Case Study Number 1

Client – A software company with 3 sites and approximately 250 employees

Service UtilizedAccu-Audit

Goal of Telecom Audit – Confirm that services are being billed properly and reduce spending where possible.

Services Reviewed – Audio conferencing, Local voice, inbound and outbound long distance, calling cards, Internet, and web conferencing, and Cellular services

Situation – Client was looking to reduce expenditures where possible and had reduced headcount over past 3 quarters. Previous audits had reduced expenses through renegotiation of contracts; however, inventory of services had never been conducted and reviewed by an outside auditor.

Scope of Project – Review existing telecom invoices, contracts, conduct master inventory of all services, and reduce costs where possible through optimization of services and verification of current costs.

DiscoveryAccu-Audit revealed that 19% of existing local voice services were not being utilized and unnecessary. In addition, all services were contracted at above market rates while the existing Interexchange carrier had been billing client since the inception of the contractual agreement signed 17 months earlier.

Outcome – By eliminating excess services and renegotiating contracted rates with each provider, Accucom was able reduce future telecom costs by 23%. The audit produced a $27,000 refund to the client based upon erroneous billing from the Interexchange carrier.


Case Study Number 2

Client – Electronics manufacturer with 4 locations

Service Utilized Accu-Audit

Services Reviews – Local and Long Distance Voice Services, AudioConferencing, Web Conferencing, and Internet

Situation – Client was near the expiration of contractual terms for above mentioned services and wanted to have costs and services analyzed before renegotiating new contracts

Scope of Project – Analyze rates and services providing a cost comparison of 3 alternative carriers for all services

Discovery – Analysis revealed that existing pricing was above current market rates and that utilizing existing carriers would reduce cost by 16%. However, by utilizing optional carriers, existing costs would be reduced by 33%.

Outcome – Accucom managed negotiations with all carriers on behalf of client eliminating the need to meet with each individual carrier. Audio conferencing and long distance were moved to new providers saving 34% with Accucom managing the migration process. New rates and contractual terms were negotiated with existing providers of Internet, Local, and Web Conferencing services representing a savings of 13%. Accucom’s Accu-Agent service reduced clients cost by $9,200 per month.
